Dr. Vera Ilyushina was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. Growing up in a very musical family she started her first music lessons at the age of 2. Showing great promise she toured extensively throughout Russia and Europe while continuing her studies in the musical field with Professors S. Shalman and A. Shustin.
Shortly after her graduation from the acclaimed St. Petersburg Conservatory she moved to the United States to continue her education at the SUNY at Stony Brook, where she studied with the renowned Lazar Gosman.
After receiving her Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Violin Performance she moved to Atlanta, where she performed with Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Opera and the Atlanta Ballet. Dr. Vera Ilyushina gave numerous recitals throughout Russia, Europe and United States.
Currently Dr. Ilyushina continues to reside in Atlanta, where she divides her time between her performances, violin studio, and raising her three boys.
